About me
I believe in opening up communication and understanding between couples, as well as in individuals, to allow them to get to know themselves better in the process. I also believe that sustainable change is possible and that destructive patterns can be broken.
I have over 10 years of experience and enjoy working with a diverse group of clients, including cross-cultural couples, the LGBTQ+ community , couples and individuals plagued with depression, relationship difficulties, infertility and much more.
Qualifications
Trained at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships (now Tavistock Relationships), where I qualified as a Psychodynamic Couple and Individual Psychotherapist
Completed 4 year honours degree in Psychology at the University of the Free State, South Africa
Registration
British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (registered member). I am bound by their code of ethics.
I attend regular industry events to keep up to date with the latest developments in the field.
Personally I am particularly interested in difference within couples and how that is managed. The ultimate dilemma that many couples face is how to negotiate space within the relationship without losing intimacy, a balance I feel is crucial in securing a healthy, creative relationship. I was drawn to the field as I became more and more aware of the damaging effect that relationships can have on personal well-being and how many people are suffering in silence.
